- Digita Wordworth 5 Additional Notes - 9th February 1996.
- ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
-
- For information regarding the new features in Wordworth 5, please
- refer to the help section "What's New in 5.0".
-
-
- Please Note:
- ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
- 1 Unfortunately, the manual incorrectly states, on page 31 step 2,
- that "Digita Print Manager" comes with Wordworth 5. This is not
- the case and we apologise for any misunderstandings that may
- result.
-
- Digita Print Manager can, however, be bought separately for
- £15 plus postage. Please contact Digita Sales for more
- information.
-
- 2 Users running Wordworth from floppy disk will notice that the
- program auto-runs when booted up from the Wordworth5 disk.
-
- 3 The 'Download Agfa Fonts' option in Wordworth 5, to download
- Compugraphic fonts to an HP LaserJet 3 or above printer, will only
- work with genuine Agfa Compugraphic fonts (not the 50 fonts
- supplied with Wordworth 5).
-
- 4 ARexx and Wizards are only available on hard-disk.
-
- 5 Floppy disk users will have to Quit Wordworth before they can
- install any of the Digita Font Collections or Digita Print Manager.
- Otherwise, they will run out of memory whilst installing.
-
- 6 When the `Install Wordworth 5' icon is double-clicked, you will
- experience a delay before you are asked to choose your experience
- level. This is normal as the install script is quite large.
-
- 7 If you have a previous version of Wordworth, and wish to install
- this new version, you will have to create a new set of disks as
- before, or rename your existing disks and install over the top of
- them.
-
- 8 There is a Help section titled `Troubleshooting'. Please read this
- section before contacting Digita Technical Support as your query may
- be contained within the help files.
-
- 9 Users opening previous Wordworth v3 documents which contain any of
- the `MathRoman...' fonts, will experience an error message similar
- to "Cannot find MathRoman... Size xx". This is to maintain
- compatability with earlier versions.
-
- Once the document is open, you will notice that the text using
- these fonts has been changed to `Shannon Book'. Highlight this
- text and choose one of the new `Math Roman ...' fonts from the
- Font requester to reformat your document.
-
- 10 The Math Roman fonts are not shown in Wordworth 5's font lists by
- default, if you wish to use them you will need to choose "Change
- Settings" (Settings menu), select Text and tick the `Agfa Math Fonts'
- check-box.

- Common Startup Problems
- ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
- Q I have installed Wordworth to my hard disk without any problems, but
- when I run the program I get a `Wordworth Startup Error'.
- --------------------------------------------------------------------
- A This message often occurs when there are old 1.3 versions of the
- Workbench libraries present.
-
- Either double-click the Snoop tool, located in the WwTools drawer on
- the Ww5Extras disk (or in the Wordworth5 drawer on hard-disk) and
- send the printouts to Digita Technical Support for analysis.
-
- Or, open up a Shell window (Workbench System drawer) and type:
- `copy Workbench3.0:Libs/#? LIBS:'
-
- Workbench 2.0 users type: `copy Workbench2.0:Libs/#? LIBS:'
-
- Workbench 2.1 users type: `copy Workbench2.1:Libs/#? LIBS:'
-
- This will install all of the original libraries from your Workbench
- disk back onto your hard disk.
-
-
-
- Q I get half way through the installation process, and a message
- appears telling me that I have a Checksum error.
- ---------------------------------------------------------------------
- A It seems that the install disk you are using has an error on it. Make
- a new backup of the faulty disk from your Master set and try again.
-
- If the problem persists then send the disks back to Digita Technical
- Support with a stamped, addressed jiffy bag and covering letter so
- that we may exchange the disks with a tested set immediately.
-
-
-
- Q When I install Wordworth onto my hard disk, it tells me that there
- is not enough disk space on my System partition to install. I have
- 60MB free!
- ------------------------------------------------------------------
- A Hard disks are usually split up into several areas or partitions.
- Commonly there is a `Work' and a `Workbench' (sometimes called a
- System or Boot partition).
-
- Wordworth needs to copy several items (fonts and libraries) to your
- System partition in order to work correctly. When there is not enough
- disk space on this partition, this error message is displayed.
-
- It may be that you have booted from the Ww5Install-1 floppy-disk
- before attempting to install to a hard-disk, this will not work and
- will cause this error. If this is the case then turn on your Amiga
- with no floppy-disks inserted, so the Amiga boots from the hard-disk,
- then insert the Ww5Install-1 floppy-disk, double-click its disk
- icon, double-click the 'Install Wordworth 5' icon and follow the
- on-screen prompts.
-
-
- Q When I try and run Wordworth, the Wordworth screen appears and it
- tells me that it cannot find `Shannon Book' and was unable to
- `Initialise Document'.
- --------------------------------------------------------------------
- A This could be due to lack of memory on your machine. Ensure that you
- have 2MB of free memory before starting Wordworth. Free Memory is the
- amount of memory displayed in the Workbench title bar after the
- machine is turned on (2MB will be displayed as 2,097,152 bytes).
-
- Alternatively, the Wordworth environment variable may be pointing to
- the wrong place, due to you moving the Wordworth5 drawer to a
- different location after installing. Run the Snoop program located in
- WwTools drawer (Ww5Extras disk when running from floppies) and send
- Digita Technical Support the printout.
-
-
-
- Q When I run Wordworth from floppy disks, the message `Cannot open
- necessary library files' appears and I am returned to the Workbench.
- --------------------------------------------------------------------
- A You have turned your machine on (`booted up') with the Amiga Workbench
- disk in the internal drive. You must turn on (or reset) your Amiga with
- the Wordworth5 floppy disk in the internal drive before attempting to
- run Wordworth.
